Mike Lopez

President & Owner

President and Owner Mike Lopez founded Legacy Restorations, Inc in 2005. The company has since built an incredible team, and has become the most sought after contractor in the Baltimore area. Mike takes a hands-on role in business development and quality control, and acts as Chief Financial Officer. Mike has over thirty years of experience in the construction industry. He attributes his success to his ability to build meaningful relationships with employees, clients, vendors and sub-contractors. Mike is an excellent problem solver. He’s also a good listener who understand his clients’ needs and desires. His genuine concern for people makes him a superior business owner and boss.

Mike went to Catholic grade school and a private college preparatory high school. An average student who never enjoyed being in the classroom, he opted to forgo higher education in favor of learning in the field under the tutelage of several different residential contractors. Eager to learn carpentry, he eventually found a mentor who was willing to teach him the trade. He started taking on side projects and quickly saw his work week increase to upwards of 70 hours per week! Mike was running jobs within three years, and soon after that, building large homes from the ground up. A few years later, Mike opened his first small business, called MJL Woodworks, while simultaneously running large projects for another custom builder who eventually brought him on as a business partner. Mike worked with this successful venture until 2005, doing upwards of ten million dollars in business during their peak period. The skills and experience he gained during this time prepared him to found Legacy Restorations in 2005 and grow it into one of Baltimore’s premier residential contracting companies.

“I very much enjoy working through challenges and coming up with solutions. After doing both rough carpentry and finish carpentry, I gravitated towards the finish carpentry and found that to be my true passion. I love seeing a client enjoying the Legacy process of renovating their home. I have a lot of fun doing what I do, and I strive to make the process just as enjoyable for each and every client… At my core is a strong faith in God that gives me the strength to be the best husband, dad, friend and business owner that I can be.”
